Add/remove programs, software update & Package Manager not working.

A few of the basic Manjaro apps are not working for me and I have no clue why. When I click on the Add/Remove app a window pops up on the dock and then dissapears immediately. Same for the software update. Also, when I click on the package manger in the dock nothing at all happens. How can I check what is wrong with these apps? The system was just updated to 5.4.22-1-MANJARO. Thanks.

First of all, have you rebooted after updating your system? If not, reboot and try again to open these applications.

I have rebooted multiple times and still no luck :frowning:

Open a terminal window and run

pamac-manager

If you get any errors, please post them here.

here's what I got:

$ pamac-manager
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

Try cleaning your cache from corrupted packages.

sudo pacman -Scc
sudo pacman-mirrors -f 5 && sudo pacman -Syyu

Another post reporting the same thing just recently. Related problem?

I had to delete some of the mirror links because my account is not allowed to post them.

Looks like I had some conflicts that needed to be resolver, or the wrong version of pamac-cli i guess?? Anyway it worked thank you so much!!!

cli1

This was happening because you were using the dev version of Pamac.

Cool thanks bill-t!

Hello. Thank you for your help. I had the same problem and this alone didn't fix my issue though. I first had to remove

pamac-flatpak-plugin-dev

or else it wouldn't let me reinstall.

This is a problem with the Manjaro Gnome 19.0.2 installer though because this happened to me with a fresh install. I never thought to check the live USB key so when I went back to check it, the problem also exists on it.
