Always rebooting at shutdown

Dear Community,

I installed Manjaro some time ago (from Windows 10 only to dual boot) after buying a new laptop. Since then I cannot shutdown my laptop without force shutdown (holding the power button for 5 seconds). This same problem occurs in Windows 10. I am sure my laptop is doing a reboot as it stays shutdown for the same time as a reboot would. I am assuming it is a BIOS power setting or ACPI problem, however I don't know how to fix it.

I tried sollutions of this post and some others. I am using a BTO 15x882 which has removed the "Power management" section of the BIOS so I cannot try those sollutions.

Additionally adding acpi=noirc in my grub boot settings results in having no working trackpad or laptop keyboard and still rebooting at shutdown.

Some command output:

$ systemctl poweroff -i
$ sudo shutdown now

These two commands result in a reboot simmilar to using UI/physicial buttons.

$ sudo journalctl | grep -E 'reboot|poweroff
Output of journalctl

Do you guys have any idea or sollutions? Many thanks!

Edit
  1. Rephrased a sentence.

You changed something in

/etc/default/grub

for ACPI?

systemd-coredump.socket: Failed to queue service startup job (Maybe the service file is missing or not a non-template unit?): Transaction for systemd-coredump@0-6688-0.service/start is destructive (systemd-poweroff.service has 'start' job queued, but 'stop' is included in transaction).

I did in the past to see if that would solve the problem, however currently it's the same way it was when I did a fresh install.

Current /etc/default/grub
GRUB_DEFAULT=saved
GRUB_TIMEOUT=5
GRUB_TIMEOUT_STYLE=hidden
GRUB_DISTRIBUTOR="Manjaro"
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet apparmor=1 security=apparmor udev.log_priority=3"
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=""

# If you want to enable the save default function, uncomment the following
# line, and set GRUB_DEFAULT to saved.
GRUB_SAVEDEFAULT=true

# Preload both GPT and MBR modules so that they are not missed
GRUB_PRELOAD_MODULES="part_gpt part_msdos"

# Uncomment to enable booting from LUKS encrypted devices
#GRUB_ENABLE_CRYPTODISK=y

# Uncomment to use basic console
GRUB_TERMINAL_INPUT=console

# Uncomment to disable graphical terminal
#GRUB_TERMINAL_OUTPUT=console

# The resolution used on graphical terminal
# note that you can use only modes which your graphic card supports via VBE
# you can see them in real GRUB with the command 'videoinfo'
GRUB_GFXMODE=auto

# Uncomment to allow the kernel use the same resolution used by grub
GRUB_GFXPAYLOAD_LINUX=keep

# Uncomment if you want GRUB to pass to the Linux kernel the old parameter
# format "root=/dev/xxx" instead of "root=/dev/disk/by-uuid/xxx"
#GRUB_DISABLE_LINUX_UUID=true

# Uncomment to disable generation of recovery mode menu entries
GRUB_DISABLE_RECOVERY=true

# Uncomment and set to the desired menu colors. Used by normal and wallpaper
# modes only. Entries specified as foreground/background.
GRUB_COLOR_NORMAL="light-gray/black"
GRUB_COLOR_HIGHLIGHT="green/black"

# Uncomment one of them for the gfx desired, a image background or a gfxtheme

GRUB_THEME="/usr/share/grub/themes/manjaro/theme.txt"

# Uncomment to get a beep at GRUB start
#GRUB_INIT_TUNE="480 440 1"

I want to add that I did a fresh install a week ago to check if that would solve it, but in both cases the reboot occurs. I don't have the old /etc/default/grub anymore, but with the way it is configured as above the problem still persists.

Interesting. Does the system reboot instead of shutdown when you boot from an usb stick as well?

Does it also do a reboot if you do a:

shutdown --halt now
