So there is no fix?
I am confused
I did only a quick search in forum, maybe some where is a solution for this.
I just did a quick search in the forum, maybe there is a solution for this somewhere else.
Oh okok, i have done some research before and no one had answers, thats why i posted here.
This is a recurrent problem happening across multiple distros.
It is the reason why i am moving away from linux.
Would have been very helpful to mention this information in the first post.
Linux can't help it if hardware manufacturers, for whatever reason, only create driver software for certain operating systems.
I do not know what is going on because i had wifi for 2 months!
Just today it can no longer find my home wifi.
Some more info are missing
I am new to linux, i dont really know what information i should provide
What exactly did you do before this happens, like
- updating
- installation, de-installation
- major configuration change
- hardware changes
- whatsovever
Have you tried other kernes like 4.14 or 4.19 LTS?
Have you system backups e.g. from timeshift you could use to recover the old status?
There where no major alterations prioir to the event.
I have tried to use 5.3rt i think but still no wifi in house.
i do have a backup from timeshift.
but i do not know how to restore it
Now start reading the manuals
OK, what were the minor alterations prior to the event then?
Also, please try 4.19 LTS, it's simple to install it via GUI and applied via selection of Advanced options from grub menu at boot.
will try, thanks!
be right back with news
Nothing to do with Linux or Manjaro, but if you can't see your home network be sure to check the router and make sure that it is broadcasting the SSID. That is an option on many routers. I don't like to broadcast mine so I turn it off and enter it manually. Just something to check.
Timeshift did nothink but wipe my gnome.
and using a different kernel does nothing to help too.
My router is working, my windows partiti9on can see and connect so can my phone.
If i put a live usb in the computer, wifi is recognized...
