Audio Issues Upon Startup Thinkpad T420

My audio will either be permanently working or permanently dead whenever I boot up my laptop. The audio buttons still work (speaker/mic toggle on the screen), but the light indicators and the speakers and microphone don't function. In order to fix this, I'll have to restart my computer and it'll only sometimes function as expected. It seems like powering it down and waiting a little bit works more often than a straight restart, but it just seems random when it'll function normally. Software wise, it seems fine, but literally no piece of hardware will work, on the computer or plugged in.

Hello and welcome to Manjaro!

Could you please provide the output of

journalctl -b

of one boot with AND one boot without working audio? And put it into a pastebin like 8n1.org or similar. Further would it be helpful if you could provide more information on the hardware and software you use with

inxi --full --verbosity=7 --filter --no-host

and format it properly as explained in this thread and post the output here.

Here's the output of

journalctl -b

when audio is not working: https://pastebin.com/0KJABWUv

and when it is working: https://pastebin.com/F8k0cq48

And here is the output of

inxi --full --verbosity=7 --filter --no-host

When did you install Manjaro on this laptop? Since when do you experience this issue?

In the non-audio journal this line

May 25 23:22:50 antibotnet kernel: snd_hda_intel 0000:00:1b.0: bound 0000:00:02.0 (ops i915_audio_component_bind_ops [i915])

is not present and as a result it doesn't seem the device is recognized at all. So the driver is not loaded as it should be and no audio is initialised.

Although there are even problems with the audio device on a working boot

May 25 23:22:50 antibotnet systemd-udevd[270]: controlC0: Process '/usr/bin/alsactl restore 0' failed with exit code 99.

and Pipewire throws errors in both boot sequences, but I don't think that's the problem,

It's hard to think of those dates exactly, but I would say it's been about a year or so with this current installation and I don't know exactly when this issue started but I've noticed it a few months ago about.
