Can not load Manjaro LIVE cd - stucked at grub loading

Hello,

Im want to try out the Manjaro live cd distribution (KDE Edition (17.0.2)) before I decide to choose it as my main OS, but the problem is that when I make a bootable USB and run a system from it, I get:
"GRUB LOADING..
WELCOME TO GRUB"
and nothing happens, I can't write anything, nothing is loading/processing.

My current fdisk looks like this:

sda is my main disk, where i have windows and linux mint installed.
sdb is my sdd disk, currently empty.
sdc is an USB stick with a bootable system.

I burned the iso from the linux terminal using the dd command. When i do the same with other linux distros (like mine 18.2) it works flawlessly.

When I try to run the Manjaro live cd from the virtual box, I get to the option menu and choose:
Boot: Manjaro.x86_64 kde
then I see a log with many running processes. It ends with succes and the GUI "should" be loaded, but instead of fully functional desktop (which is visible for a moment) all I get is a black background and the getting started menu, which is non interactive, meaning i can not choose any option.

Any ideas where to look for explanation?

I can add i have a HP Pavilion dv7 notebook with dual graphics (intel, radeon), 1 hdd(with linux mint, windows and MBR) and 1 sdd(empty).

It might be the dual graphics. Which should be correctly detected using mhwd after login.
Have you tried adding

nomodeset
or
nomodeset i915.modeset=0

to kernel parameters ?
(just hit 'e' at selection and then add options where you see 'quiet splash')
