Cannot install Manjaro Gnome Dualboot [SOLVED]

Hey, a new user here.
I've recently decided to dual-boot Manjaro on an UEFI computer.
I have set up all partitions correctly, and when pressing install, the installation fails.
Here is what happens:

Cannot open /dev/sda5: device or resource busy.

Please open a terminal and execute this command

lsblk -la

I have used fdisk and it has showed two swap partitions - the one im trying to create and another one which i didnt create at all

Manjaro-Windows dual-boot?

Yes. I am not ready to do a full switch to linux. Mostly because my printer doesnt have any linux drivers yet, and im not the only person using my computer.

Please have a look at the guide.

I am actually following it before I posted. I have set everything up - swap, root and boot partitions. It's just that the installation fails when making the swap partition

Hmm - can you get the Calamares version from a terminal?

calamaras -v

There may also be more information avaiable if you launch Calamares from the terminal using the --debug argument.

calamares-polkit --debug

or

sudo calamares --debug

Version - 3.2.4.1

calamares-polkit --debug

^ This command doesn't exist
For some reason a partition named /dev/sda5 was created but it has an unknown file system. It has 8.0 GB (swap size i've specified), along with /dev/sda4, which has the same size but is using NTFS. not sure why these suddenly started to exist.
This is what was happening when I pressed install:

I suggest you double check the filesystems selected for the chosen partition scheme.

No formatting using NTFS - do not select any of your NTFS partitions.

Delete the partitions previously created for Manjaro - then select the available space and start recreating the partitions

  • $esp mounted on /boot/efi
    filesystem: fat32
    flags: esp, boot
  • system on /
    filesystem: ext4
    flags: none
  • partition
    filesystem: swap
    flags: swap

On piece of extra advise

  • set the root partition size to 64GiB / ext4
  • create a partition using the remaining space minus space for swap partition and mount it at /home using ext4.

This will make your personal settings separated from the system and make the less prone to accidental overwrite during a reinstall.

I never formatted anything with NTFS when installing. this partition suddenly came to existence and not sure when that happened. Should I just install without swap for now?

So what I think has happened is that some special Windows partition which is normally hidden in/by Windows is visible to Calamares. As I recall Windows or the OEM (Lenovo comes to mind) uses sizes of 8-10GiB for an OEM recovery partition - usually formatted as NTFS.

Or you accidently marked a partition for NTFS and flagged it as swap.

Just be sure to mark the appropriate partitions and set them correct.

What ever reason - you can always create a swapfile after installation either on a designated partition - suffice you leave the empty space - or as a swapfile using the system partition.

not really - after some looking at gparted, apparently it was WINRE and fdisk thought that it was a swap partition

Aww crap. Its not the mkswap command fault. I tried installing without swap and it showed the same error, this time on efi partition instead.

Still no success. The installation fails as soon as making the first partition begins.
Side note: i've tried to unmount created partitions. they arent mounted at all in the first place

Solved: The reaon behind it was because of optane mode. I switched to AHCI mode in bios and manjaro installer kicked in successfully
