Cannot login anymore

All of a sudden, i cannot login anymore to X.

Xless login to another console is possible. Now, unfortunately, i'm clueless where to search for the error. Possibly, i did something wrong in the mhwd-tui hardware graphic-driver settings.

The working settings were

linux video x x
video modesetting x
video vesa x

I activated both both, modesetting and vesa (moreover, after suggestion of the installer of ungoogled chrome i had installed libva-intel, which i actually removed but that didn't change anything).

When i look into bmenu -> Installed driver i see video-linux, video-modesetting and video-vesa are installed.

I' m pretty clueless where to look and check and i don't know, where and what eventually to remove.

Many thanks in advance for any help (it's pretty urgent for me, since i need that machine in this corona-locked times. Teaching from a tablet isn't fun at all ;-( ).

You have to provide more info than this.

Since you're stuck in the tty and it's difficult to copy and paste to the forum, use pastebinit.

In the meantime i looked into /et/X11 where presumeably the erroneous configuration is.

What i found is this:

Section "Device"
     Identifier "Device0"
     Driver "vesa"
     BusID "PCI:0:2:0"
     Option "DRI" "true"

Section "DRI"
      Group "video"
      Mode 0666

Section "Extensions"
       Option "Composite" "Enable"
       Option "RENDER" "Enable"

Section "InputClass"
       Identifier "Keyboard Defaults"
      MatchIsKeyboard "yes"
      Option "XkbOptions" "terminate:ctrl_alt_bksp"

And exactly identical is /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/90-mhwd.conf.

Replying to myself: I found the solution.

It was that simple! I deleted the both files above, i.e.:

And all turned as before.
