Categories in Whisker Menu disappear

If I choose not to show icons (only text) for the whisker menu categories, the text goes missing upon reboot.

This is how the problem presents itself:

I'll go to the whisker menu properties dialog and choose 'none' for the 'categories icon size' option. As soon as I do, the 'show categories name' checkbox becomes grayed out.

The result, as expected, is that the categories show only as text entries.

But as soon as I've rebooted the computer, the text of the categories is missing and the 'show categories name' checkbox, in the menu properties, is again selectable (and is unchecked).

Does anyone know of a workaround for this?

Host: ManjaroDesktop Kernel: 4.9.13-1-MANJARO x86_64 (64 bit gcc: 6.3.1)
Desktop: Xfce 4.12.3 (Gtk 2.24.31) Distro: Manjaro Linux

I am having the exact same problem. Downloading the latest updates just in case!

Adding to this - I've noticed it as well.
Not sure when it started happening (I like my Super )

Hi,
I can confirm the above problem ..
I ended up with the 2 dummy menus buttons ( no text nor icons ) containing the favorites and latest programs ...

So something is not working properly ...
Not sure when it happened ... :frowning:

Fixed by using "xfce4-whiskermenu-plugin-gtk3" instead.

You're right. Thanks for the heads up.
It seems it was fixed in both regular and gtk3 versions as of 04/04:

Changes in version 2.1.2

Fixed category names turning off at login (bug #13422)

Changes in version 1.7.2
Released on April 4th, 2017
Fixed category names checkbox incorrectly enabled when opening dialog

And of course I changed and reported on... the 4th :ghost:

(Havent landed in Testing yet where we now have 2.0.1 and 1.7.1 - but already in Unstable branch)
