If you happen to run workspaces-to-dock extension and then upgrade you probably will end up at a desktop with no keyboard input or mouse button, which is a real problem.
The only way to fix it at the moment is to remove the extension via a different TTY and then reboot.
At the GDM login window hit ctl-alt-F3 and log in as your normal user. Then remove the extension which is located at /home/youruser/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions.
[lee@Z77M ~]$ rm -fR .firstname.lastname@example.org'
then just reboot by typing reboot and hit enter.
This applies to Gnome Version 3.28.2 and I believe 3.28.1, I am running on Xorg but I believe it effects Wayland sessions as well.
I have tested the latest github of the extension https://github.com/passingthru67/workspaces-to-dock
but it is still broken.
