Dd command for flashing ISO on usb drive

Just a suggestion for
https://wiki.manjaro.org/index.php?title=Burn_an_ISO_File
...

You mention the line
sudo dd bs=4M if=/path/to/manjaro.iso of=/dev/sd[drive letter] status=progress
for burning an ISO to a usb drive. This didn't work in my case, but I finally got a functioning image by adding the option oflag=sync as recommended in the Arch wiki:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/USB_flash_installation_media

I do not understand the technical detail of this, but could it be worth including it in the Manjaro wiki?

Some recommend running sync separately after dd and before removing your USB drive.
I simply shut down before removing my USB drive from a powered-off laptop, and I have never had a problem.

Perhaps, though the dd man page does not make it clear to me, the dd oflag=sync does the same thing, though continuously, rather than after dd terminates.
