hello this is my first manjaro heck my first linux os might also be true i am good with computers and have installed linux several times not much of a user though
anyway this is my issue
my laptop is a thinkpad t480
I am not able to restart or shut down or log out from the leave menu and i get a lot of freezes and crashes for no reason as of right now can i be helped here
I dont mind sending more specs or other details if required ?
More info is needed to speculate better 
Have you activated the compositor and maybe set it to OpenGL 3.1?

I see that issue can be workaround by change SNA to UXA in Xorg intel.conf file.
sudo cp /etc/X11/mhwd.d/intel.conf /etc/X11/mhwd.d/intel.conf.old
sudo nano /etc/X11/mhwd.d/intel.conf
Find line:
Option "AccelMethod" "sna"
and replace word sna to uxa in this line.
Save changes.
Reboot.
Check status:
cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log |grep UXA
Ill let you know in another 2 or 3 hours if it works
