Dual Boot Windows 10 and Manjaro Gnome

So I am just about to set up Manjaro on my main machine. Absolutely love the recent release on my laptop. Props to everyone involved.

I just wanted to double check and get some second opinions on this partition setup.

I have 4 drives.
256GB 950 Pro
512GB 850 Evo
2TB WD green drive
and a 500GB Samsung HDD

I was planning on installing Manjaro on the 256GB 950 Pro along side windows.
And using the old 500GB Samsung HDD as my /Home.

The 512GB 850 Evo and 2TB WD green drive will remain NTFS.

Currently this is what my partition scheme is on the Windows Drive.

I was planning on adding a 512MB EFI, 8GB Swap, and 100GB /root on this drive after the existing partitions. Then as I said, use the old HDD drive for a home partition.

What do you gals/guys think to this idea?

With the space you have leftover on the SDD that Windows is already on I'd do all my Manjaro partitions on it. Even with what space the formatting takes you will have well over half of a 512 gig SSD. putting anything on the HDD is going to slow things down when running Manjaro.

Windows is only on a 256GB drive.

The 500GB SSD drive is what I use for all my dev work in windows.

OK I misread where windows was. Then yes if I setup that way it's probably what I would do.

Certainly, this would work but you slowdown your Linux system a bit when putting the home folder on a HDD. 100 GB is quite a lot for a Manjaro system and could include the home folder, easily. If you come to the point that you have not enough space you still could move the home folder to the HDD.

^^This. And the fact that you could always mount extra "space" (other partitions on other drives) anywhere convenient in your filesystem ( at home or elsewhere). Or just simply link to wherever your your extra space is.

I have gone with sticking the home on the HDD for now.
For the most part its super quick. I havent really noticed any major slowdowns.

I am mainly planning on using it for blender 3d work for now.
