External Monitor (HDMI) not turning on

Hello,

I am new to the forum and today I installed Manjaro for the first time. I installed manjaro using the Non-free drivers since I have a laptop that has the Nvidia GTX 2070 gpu. My external monitor which is connected via HDMI is not being detected at all since the screen simply remains black. This monitor works fine on my Windows 10 install. Could anyone provide me with suggestions on how to fix this?
