gScan2pdf / unpaper error

Hardware: Pinebook Pro
OS: Linux pinebookpro 5.6.0-2-MANJARO-ARM #1 SMP Thu Apr 2 21:13:13 CEST 2020 aarch64 GNU/Linux

I've installed gscan2pdf v2.6.7-1 from the official repository and when I scan with "Clean up images" or run "Tools->Cleanup" I get the following error from unpaper:

[image2 @ 0xaaaafac791a0] Encoder did not produce proper pts, making some up.

I have done some extensive searching on this one and found two things that were interesting to me:

if I run unpaper from the command line I get the same thing:

[xxxxx@pinebookpro ~]$ unpaper -v -M v test.png 1.out
unpaper 6.1

And found this bug: https://github.com/unpaper/unpaper/issues/40

It does not seem to be a very popular bug that seems to suggest that I've got something odd in my configuration that is triggering this bug.

Does anybody else have this issue, or have a suggestion?

Thanks

Hello all, I wanted to follow up and suggest this thread can be closed.

After much digging and reading and such, I came to realize that the error is simply noise in this case. If you use gscan2pdf's "Ignore this error" feature, unpaper actually works just fine despite the error.

I discovered this shortly after I posted the thread and have been using it in my workflow now for several week including the deskew and other features brought by unpaper.

This post is just to follow up and let people know the result.

Hope everything is fine you Manjaro installation.

Enjoy your device with Manjaro Arm.
Thank you for your response.

@Strit Please close the thread and give me moderator access so I don't annoy you much.
