[GUIDE] Install WPS Office (aarch64) in Manjaro ARM via AUR

Dear All,

I want to report my successful attempt to install WPS Office in Manjaro Arm via AUR (aarch64)
Here's what I did:

  1. open Add/Remove Software, then open preferences like the picture below

  2. Make sure that AUR package is enabled

  3. Search WPS Office, then select "wps-office-cn"

  4. From the "Build files" I edited the first paragraph by removing the x86_64 and change the download link, because the current download link is broken. I got it from here: https://linux.wps.cn/

Currenty the arm64 is available here: https://wdl1.cache.wps.cn/wps/download/ep/Linux2019/9615/wps-office_11.1.0.9615_arm64.deb.

If the current link is broken again in the future, then you can download it from the chinese website and google translate. Don't worry the application is in English though.

Here's my screen shot (The paragraph that I edited is highlighted in the green color):

if you want to copy and paste, here's the code:

WARNING: If the link is broken just change the source_aarch64 to the new source as I mentioned above

  1. Press "Build" and wait until all the process is done. FYI it took me around 1 hour to build this package

  2. If everything runs smoothly, now you should be able to open WPS office

Hope that helps,
Many Thanks,

Nice guide.

This is great.

It's awesome to see a commercial software vendor actually make aarch64 binaries for linux.
Maybe you can "nudge" the AUR package maintainer to include it in the PKGBUILD, so it downloads that one, if the host architecture is aarch64?

I don't know how to do it? therefore, I posted it here

Easiest way is to comment on aur package and maintainer will read it and update but I doubt it is that easy unless he have arm device to test on, with my experience I don't think any dev will accept the request until he test it first.

Maybe you can share a link for this thread there.

I think there's somebody that has commented about this in the comment section. In fact I was inspired by those comments and tried myself and it was a success.

Anyway, giving the link of this thread might be a good idea
