Help me get rid of these weird GUI bugs in Anki.

Anki has these weird GUI bugs that is making using the application very difficult. Without further ado let me show a screenshot which will make the issue immediately apparent:


I do not experience these problems with other GTK/QT applications.

There are NO BUGS ! Go to the system settings and adjust Theme and fonts !!!!

True. I changed the "style" in "Appearance" app and now all those issue have gone away.

It is interesting that only anki has this problem but not other apps.

The issue came back. No combination of themes and fonts is doing the trick. In XFCE I see this issue but not in MATE.

It is tiring to switch to MATE whenever I want to use ANKI.

I hope there is a solution is to this.

The issues are caused by a low DPI value.


  1. Use default DPI. Appearance -> Fonts -> Custon DPI (Uncheck). (Recommended)
  2. Use higher DPI.
