Help with neofetch in xfce-terminal

I'm running the XFCE edition of Manjaro have just finished heavily customizing it to fit a theme but have unfortunately run into a roadblock. I'm trying to get neofetch to display an image instead of the default Manjaro ascii logo and whenever I change the backend and supply my source image it straight up doesn't even run, I get a blank line followed by a prompt. Here is my neofetch command that I'm running:

neofetch --backend w3m --loop --source '/home/dblue/Pictures/test.png' --size 300px --xoffset 40 --yoffset 30 --color_blocks off --underline_char '=' --colors 200 300 300 200 300 45

it is worth noting that if I run the same command in kitty with --loop as an option it works fine.

Here is what comes out of running neofetch with -vv:

Have you tried some basic troubleshooting, like starting from one option and adding one by one to see which one gives the error?

neofetch --w3m '/home/dblue/Pictures/test.png'

Also check in journal and .xsession-errors for relevant messages.

If kitty work use kitty
You use xfce4-terminal?
Post inxi -Fxxxza --no-host for good information.

[2] Terminology doesn't require w3m-img to display images. Instead it uses a builtin program called tycat .

image

~ >>> neofetch --w3m '/home/sgs/Bilder/cj-tux-02-sgs.png' --size 450px --yoffset 130 --xoffset 20

I would use kitty but the text colors in it aren't as vibrant. I'm going for a retro 80s look with lots of neon-type colors and most of those come out really dull in kitty and also want my terminal to relatively minimalist, tried a bunch of other terminals and xfce-terminal was the one that was closest to kitty with colors that matched what I wanted. As for step by step troubleshooting AgentS, that's how I found out that telling neofetch to display anything other than the default manjaro ascii logo is what was breaking it. neofetch --source [path to img] did nothing as it continued to use the defaul ascii logo but neofetch --[any of the backends] [path to img] always resulted in blank line then prompt regardless of backend specified.
