Hibernate not working on Manjaro + LVM + LUKS

Hi all,

I installed Manjaro and Hibernate does not work out of the box if I close the laptop lid. I had the very same issue on both GNOME and KDE version.

I crypted my partitions during the setup of Manjaro itself.

[dibi@ratman ~]$ uname -a
Linux ratman 5.7.0-1-MANJARO #1 SMP PREEMPT Tue Apr 21 20:48:43 UTC 2020 x86_64 GNU/Linux

If I try to hibernate using sysctl I get the following:

[ratman dibi]# systemctl hibernate
Failed to hibernate system via logind: Not enough swap space for hibernation

but swap is available and the record is there along with the record in fstab.

ratman dibi]# free
total used free shared buff/cache available
Mem: 3823 1225 1460 285 1137 2082
Swap: 8410 0 8410

Any thoughts?

Hi all, a little bump up here. I'd like to have this sorted but I'm a bit lost, I will probably be able to get to the bottom of this (which I think is impacting many users) and document the solution on this if someone could throw at me few hints. Thanks!

Hi Bidi. I'm not sure what could be the issue, but I suspect some misconfiguration with the grub.

I found a similar thread which might be helpful (linked below). The OP had the same error as you. If you navigate to the post marked as solution, you will see that he needed to fix one of his grub parameters.

You need at least the size of your RAM + any dedicated VRAM
