How do I run games properly through Proton on Steam?

Hi again!

This time I am having trouble running Win-only games through Steam - AC: Odyssey, to be specific. The game behaves as if I'm playing on a Commodore64 (please refer to the image below)

Can someone please help me solve this? I am running Steam in flatpak.

Cheers! :blush:

Just close the window and set your manually optimal resolution,sometimes games tells you that because the drivers versions are not the same as on Windows,but if you card is capable of running the game then doesn't matter.

Yes, but the problem is that I cannot change the resolution...

I see Options in the screenshot. It doesn't work?

It does work, but I only have 640x480 :confused:

According to https://www.protondb.com/app/812140 ,you need to enable a virtual desktop and then edit the ini file from ac manually

edit the file located in

.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/812140/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/My Documents/Assassin's Creed Odyssey/ACOdyssey.ini

and edit the files

FullscreenWidth=1920
FullscreenHeight=1080

with your optimal resolution,and the try again,if not work try following the various settings on the protondb page from users.
