How does one provide value of xxxxxxxxxx

In following post

By telling us more. Where and what value would be a good start.

That's the uuid of the partition. In that post, it refers to the uuid of the manjaro partition.

search --no-floppy --fs-uuid --set=root xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
configfile /boot/grub/grub.cfg

So that is the root partition / define at install?

Defined at 'sudo blkid'

Still. Blkid looking for manjaro root / partition ?

Post must be at least 5 characters

UUID of sda perhaps? Ok once I get to my computer later I will, post values of blkid ok?

Or you can use Thumbs up emoji :+1: on the post you want to respond :sunglasses:

/dev/sda1: UUID="85e9779a-91d5-423e-80ca-a4828496e5a1" TYPE="ext4" PARTUUID="daea0421-01"

For the record I have
sda1 / -Mint
sda2 swap
sda3 Home - Mint

sda6 / - manjaro
sda7 swap
sda8 Home - Manjaro

is the uuid you need for --root

Nice! Thanks for that!

Now in regards to [A fallback alternative] is that good to use in Linux Mint 18?

IN regards to btrfs will need additional tweeks (rootflag=subvolume=@)

This is foreign to me and I kind of like to idea of

Preventing Manjaro bootloader from being overridden

Still I can always fall back to

Cool!. I will give it a try. Thanks for your support guys! :star_struck:
