How to install ArgonOne ?

Hi,

Im trying to install Argon on manjaro arm but that not work.
If you have any idea that help me for my RPI 4.

For information this script add support for active the fan.

Best Regards

The packages looks like are in the raspian image distro. In the script looks like maybe 2 of the packages are in our repo (under different package name). The rest appear to be modules that have to be imported into python or some times AUR has some. But the actual modules name will different than what the packages name in the script. When you get all depends in the script then comment out he apt-get nonsense in the script.

Personally I have a pi3b+ which I turned into an Openwrt router and the fan has been running non stop for 3 years and still going strong with out any control.

Yes but my fan is not running without this script.

I have never had a fan not run after plugging in to the gpio pins.

rpi4-fan-pins

my fan not run... but probably need a software in manjaro for run.
This script is is provided for controle my fan.

Check and see if you have 5v dc on the 2 pins. If you do get a new fan.

My fan is include in this : https://www.argon40.com/argon1/argon-one-pi4.html

That does look like a whole new situation. My guess you will have to adapt that script for arch then. I do not have one of those case/fan combo's to test to get all right in the script. Maybe on the arch arm forum some one has it working. The combo does look interesting though with passive and active cooling.

A quick search and I came across this: https://github.com/Elrondo46/argonone

Thank you,

I still have some error message : "Cannot find the fakeroot binary.
==> ERROR: Cannot find the strip binary required for object file stripping." Either with makepkg --install or makepkg -si.

sudo pacman -S base-devel

use:

makepkg -si

I followed your instruction to install script to run Argone one fan working in Manjaro for Rpi4 and everything worked well..package is installed and i can do all settings in terminal with argonone-config command, like in Raspbian, but fan still not working, regardless off temp..should be start kicking on 55 C,but nothing happens..is there any way to actually start service?..thank you in advance
edit: i did try to start service with: sudo systemctl enable argononed.service but still no luck..

tommy@RPi4-Manjaro ~]$ sudo systemctl status argononed.service

Don't know how to fix it...any help appreciated

It also failed to me, it needs the aur package raspberrypi-userland-aarch64 in order to work. Just do

yay -S raspberrypi-userland-aarch64-git

Installed Yay, installed this package, still nothing happens with fan..dunno what i'm missing..

systemd still reports that fails the argononed service?

edit:
maybe can be fix by installing python-raspberry-gpio, then see if the service can start

[tommy@RPi4-Manjaro argonone]$ systemctl status argononed.service
