Before anyone links the setting up prime entry in this forum. That does not work period, I have tried and tried and tried. My system is laptop with an amd ryzen 7 3750H with vega rx 10 built in and the nvidia 1660ti with max-q. The only driver that can work with my setup is the latest nvidia 435.21 because my hybrid system only uses automatic prime offloading. There is no manual option that will work on my set up. I reached out to a guy who wrote a script to enable automatic prime offloading using arch/manjaro with an amd/nvidia system. He informed that xorg 1.21 should have all the available configurations for prime of loading to work automatically. That hasnt released yet, he also informed that the lovely people here at manjaro built the required patches into thier xorg server.
I just did an install using architect because its the only way to actually install it on my system because the live installations are not compatible. I installed xfce on the latest 53 kernel and selected the proprietary drivers which included the 435.21. As expected I cant boot up. Given the information what would be next steps to get this to work. I am assuming I still need to nvidia optimus manager, then switch the intel conf for amd conf?
Also how do I just get manjaro to work period. I can literally configure arch from the wiki and get a bootable desktop top. I can install and use pop, mint, fedora, opensuse, solus, arch, arco linux. Manjaro for what ever reason does not work on my set up which is really weird. This is honestly my last effort to get this working, I want to love and support and use manjaro, but its literally one of the only distros that I cant get to work and I have no idea why. Even if I could get it to boot only using the amd that would be awesome, I can configure arch to do that but when i tried to repeat those steps in manjaro it wouldnt work. I am honestly at a complete loss of how to get this to work.
