KDE: How to install Dolphin plugin ReImage

I would like to have a simple option to strip privacy sensitive info from any image. Dolphin has an add-on for that, called ReImage.
The UI makes me to believe I can install it by just clicking on the Install button. It shows me an .tar.gz and .deb option. When choosing .tar.gz, I don't get any error, but also no result as well.

How are we supposed to install such dolphin addons?

You mean the following?

$ cd /path/to/ocs-url
$ ./scripts/prepare
$ qmake PREFIX=/usr
$ make
$ sudo make install

taken from: https://store.kde.org/p/1231579/#modal-installation-instructions

Don't overcomplicate yourself. Run from terminal:
pamac build kde-service-menu-reimage
and that will install, as already mentioned, the

and you are good to go

I have mo pamac, only yaourt.

It fails on downloading
https://www.egregorion.net/works/kde/servicemenus/reimage/kde-service-menu-reimage-2.5_all.tar.gz

curl failed to verify the legitimacy of the server and therefore could not
establish a secure connection to it. To learn more about this situation and
how to fix it, please visit the web page mentioned above.

I better do it by hand I guess :slight_smile:

yaourt -S kde-service-menu-reimage
But mind you, yaourt was long ago dropped. You should use another AUR helper ...

I went with yay. The problem was that the AUR package itself was broken, as the link to the .tar.gz archive was dead.
Solved for now.
