Keyboard blocked with kernel 4.19

That's the point.
"Minor" updates should not been done on all existing kernels available in the repo. Some of them should be stable (in a so called repo), at least for a minimum duration from the time the others are updated. The fact that I would be the only one in the world to get this particular bug is not a fair reason to not respect this safe way of progress.

If you look at my very first post, you can find that the problem occurred between 4.18.16-1 and 4.18.16-2
I will provide the dmesg log to you

It works fine with the PS/2-USB adapter !

How to go to TTY without keyboard ?

No super powers?

That's a good thing, isn't it?

Again, that's not how things work. Newer minor releases bring bugfixes and security fixes, and AFAIK the kernels are built semi-automatically with a script.
The source comes directly from kernel.org.

Check the history here:

What we can see is that there have effectively been changes to the HID subsystem, built as modules instead of baked into the kernel, plus two additional patches for i2c-hid.
I think it's possible that these changes might have introduced a problem.

I have the feeling that you are trying to explain me that things work badly.
Why don't we have a version n-1 not including a particular fix as well as a version n including that fix ?
Sometimes I can see a quick error boot message saying that some module(s) has(ve) could been loaded. Do you know how could I investigate this track ?

You apparently lack the ability to comprehend what @anon23612428 has explained to you several times now. Torvic has given you the solution to your issue, yet you continue to bemoan how poorly things work in Manjaro. What exactly is the issue now. From my outside perspective your problem was solved with an inexpensive adapter that you probably already had on hand.

I always keep a PS/2 keyboard on hand in case I run into problems. I guess that comes from being a Boy Scout as a kid.

This is possible by a user, creating a custom kernel adding or removing patches/commits from the standard provided kernels. I don't know how to do it, but if you want you can learn.
Provided kernels are kept at the minimum number, because of working hands missing, AFAIK.
You could inform upstream kernel development about it, so it maybe fixed upstream.

You described me very accurately: I am a fool !
And probably I could be a good benchmark for Manjaro: if I can use Manjaro, then it may be used by everyone.
But as a fool, I can still make the difference between a workaround and a real fix. Fortunately my PC motherboard has a PS/2 port, but my iMac does not. Fortunately, the USB (not-Apple) keyboard is well recognized under Manjaro on the iMac.
But more generally, it is a pity that a so basic USB keyboard may not been recognized with newer kernels. In IT we call that a regression. That means that any USB device may be in this case and I would like to be able to fix it or at least understand why it could not be fixed. Before I am stuck again, I need to consolidate my confidence.

As any linux distro is modular, I understand that Manjaro depends on the kernel development.
But it is still strange that there are 6 available versions in the repo (and it looks more than enough for me), and we came from a situation where NO of them gets the bug to a new situation where ALL of them get the bug, don't you think ?

No. Sorry..

Sorry I do

Can you please tell me where I can inform kernel development about this bug ?

I think it's at kernel.org it should be noted somewhere.
