linux-xanmod via yay - how do I set microarchitecture?

I would like to try out the xanmod kernel but when compiling, no dialog for selecting the microarchitecture is displayed ...

yay -S linux-xanmod linux-xanmod-headers

I need to set microarchitecture to _microarchitecture=10

10) AMD Family 15h (Piledriver)

how can I set this when installing with yay?

You can only do this if yay gives you the option to Edit the PKGBUILD/build-files.

If it does, change this line in the PKGBUILD:

if [ -z ${_microarchitecture+x} ]; then
  _microarchitecture=0
fi

too

if [ -z ${_microarchitecture+x} ]; then
  _microarchitecture=10
fi

Just thinking loud here.....

You could try to set this variable in the environment before starting yay:

env _microarchitecture=10 yay -S linux-xanmod

Not sure if that works but it is worth a try.

thank you guys, that worked ... but no luck w/ the reboot because of my nividia pro. driver
same issue w/ linux-lqt & linux-zen :confused:

yeah. You need to compile the kernel modules for those yourself. (manjaro does it for their kernels)

too much effort, it takes hours every time ...

If you need those modules, you have too if you use unsupported kernels. :stuck_out_tongue:

I would prefer to use an official manjaro low-latency kernel (1000Hz), unfortunately there is currently no support for it :sleepy:

it works after installing nvidia-440xx-dkms & virtualbox-host-dkms :grin:
