Lock screen freeze problem

Hello everyone and hope that all of you are doing well

If I come back to my laptop and try to resume my work, sometimes my lock screen freezes and I can't enter the password anymore. I can move the mouse but that's it.

All I can do is to CTRL + ALT + F2 and reboot the system, but this is not an ideal solution. My Linux kernel is 4.9.86-1 and I have to say that this problem rose when I updated my system.

It's seems like the last post of this forum game me the answer, but I'm not sure about it.

There is another problem which is I don't know how to downgrade gnome-screensaver.

Do you use KDE?

If so then see the following threads, they can be related to your problem.

That was the date of the last post in that thread. It pertains to a very old kernel and version of gnome. You are running stable or testing?

Mine is stable and LTS

I finally figure it out, I was just testing it for last couple of days.

in "Energy Saving" settings just disable "Dim Screen" and "Screen Energy Saving" check boxes.
