Any ideas?

In what way?

If I say, go to youtube, there is no sound when the video is playing, and I have made sure that the sound is unmuted.

Probably worth reading:

and if you could provide details about what you did when you

that might be useful.

With alsamixer I set the default soundcard to HDA Intel PCH and with pavucontrol all I did was to increase the percent of the volume. Another thing, following the wiki I did

amixer sset Speaker unmute

which returned

amixer: Unable to find simple control 'Speaker',0`

You can't do that with alsamixer. Did you use it to check mute and volume levels?

Did you check the default output device?

With pavucontrol the default output device is Buil-in Audio Analog Stereo, and with alsamixer, I did F6 and selected HDA Intel PCH as the sound card.

Yes, that allows you access to the controls for the sound card. It doesn't set it as default.

Please check its settings as I suggested.

Audio input & output

MacBookPro13,1 not working MacBookPro13,2 not working MacBookPro13,3 not working MacBookPro14,1 not working MacBookPro14,2 not working MacBookPro14,3 not working

Not working, neither the internal speakers/microphone nor the headphone jack.

What's working is audio via HDMI or any USB-connected audio device, so that can act as a workaround until internal audio is working.
