Manjaro has lower sound than Windows

Integrated ALC 889, with full slider on Manjaro -mind you that's %150- it doesn't even come close to annoying my ears. On windows i usually have it around 50 percent.
Is there a better driver or a better way to get this right?

Could you try running the command

alsamixer

?
This will put you into a terminal-based UI.
First of all, check if the master is at 100. If not, try to raise it.
Then, press F6, select your sound card with the arrow keys and press enter.
You'll now see a lot of sliders for various outputs. Try raising them and check if that helps anything.

Sorry, it doesn't work. Still almost half the sound of windows.

if you want help to get your audio issue resolved you need to post some relevant information
all i can assume from that response is that you failed to locate correct sound card in alsamixer

please post full responses to:

inxi -Fxxxz
aplay -l

and use </> or Ctrl + Shift + C to display text in correct format

Well, i did select the correct device because it did lower but was already 100 so i could not get it higher.

aplay -l confirms onboard analog audio device is card 0, device 0

this will show ALSA level controls for the card in text format
(text equivalent of controls that would be shown graphically in alsamixer -c0 --view=All)

2 controls for audio playback from rear jacks Master and PCM are on 100%

but control for Headphone for audio to front panel is set to 0 and muted [off]
this is due to another setting in ALSA that will automatically mute speakers when headphones
are plugged in, or mute headphone output if headphones not plugged in

I tested it and the front jack works much higher for some reason. Not sure if it's on the level of windows but much closer than mobo out.

How does a front panel audio connector work anyways? I see no microprocessors on it so it must be getting info from Alc 889 chip. In that case, the source and the driver are the same, how does it boost the sound then? It has no transistor either so it cannot be amplifying itself. The driver? Or the motherboard?

Thanks for all help, i feel like i'm on a wild goose chase, think i'll have to live with front panel. Hey, at least you gave me the drive to fix my long broken front panel lol. The only problem is that i shorted it and it thinks there is a headphone even when there isn't one, i'll solder properly later.

front panel on a pc case would be just a simple board with connections to audio jacks
but in addition to audio connections to motherboard there is also a jack-sense connection so the audio codec is aware of a jack when plugged in

if front panel jack is incorrectly showing jack is plugged in at all times, probably best to change Auto-Mute Mode in ALSA to Disabled so it does not affect audio playback

any boosting of audio would be in the audio codec
it is possible that the built-in amplifier for the headphones may be more powerful than the speaker amplifier to cope with high impedance headphones

I don't think so. On windows front panel is about the same think.

On manjaro mobo out is really low compared to front. It's probably a driver issue.

Install pulseaudio equalizer from pamac(Add/remove software). Change the equalizer settings as per your choice. I did the same and am getting louder and crispier sound than windows 10.
