Manjaro KDE freezes after suspension

Hey people, I have a fresh installation of Manjaro KDE. Everything works perfectly except for suspension. Whenever I suspend my laptop I just get a black screen. I have already tried to look for some posts but none seem to get the same kind of error I have

Here are my system specs. I am using bumblebee and intel pstate and have installed thermald as well as tlp.

I turned it off like 5 min after the last entry. If you need the whole journalctl of this boot it's here https://pastebin.com/QwfMtHeM

Perhaps your network is preventing proper suspend. I have numerous posts on the forum on how to correct that issue by writing a systemd service.

I would also install and test different kernels to see if the issue persists on other kernels.

I tried the previous LTS kernel but same results. Sorry for my ignorance but a couple of lines before that error you get
manager: NetworkManager state is now ASLEEP
doesn't that mean that the network manager is not the problem? in case it is is there any way I can diagnose it? I have gone through your post but in this case No Ethernet Network Connection after Resume; very recent problem the problem seems to be different since I am not able to resume after suspension. As pointed out also here Thinkpad X230T won't suspend under kernel 419rc4, 4.18, 4.17, 4.14, 4.9 Could this be a problem of sddm? Is the error
nov 19 17:21:20 manjaro kscreenlocker_greet[1330]: kf5.kpackage: No metadata file in the package, expected it at: "/home/salvi/Imágenes/"
meaningful? Also, after I close the lid the laptop fan starts to make a lot of noise and the temperature increases, but I have no idea why because there is no information in journalctl that can point to that. Is there any other diagnosis command I can use to check this overheating and the suspend problem? Sorry if I missed something from your post history but there is too much information and you post a lot
Another information I think could be useful. I had previously installed ubuntu on BIOS in this laptop without any suspension problem. However, I decided to install Manjaro on EFI since I read that it could lead to better power management.

Network manager is only one of the network components that can cause suspend to fail. The wifi modules, Bluetooth modules (and service), and the adapter itself can all contribute to suspension failing.

The easiest test is to stop Network Manager, bring the network adapter down, then rmmod the wifi module prior to suspending.

If you follow those steps and your suspend process works, then one of those network components is preventing suspension.

Bluetooth could also be a possibility, but I have only seen Bluetooth responsible very rarely.

Perform those tests and you will know if networking is the culprit.

Have you changed login screen wallpaper?
If yes, reset to default or use a system file from backgrounds.

I have tried the commands you post here Thinkpad X230T won't suspend under kernel 419rc4, 4.18, 4.17, 4.14, 4.9 to turn off the network manager but I get an error about not having installed -r module when trying to execute modprobe. I tried to suspend anyways after executing all the commands despite the errors with same results, only this time in journalctl I didn't get the messsage
manager: NetworkManager state is now ASLEEP
but still got
Session management error: networkIdsList argument is NULL
The rest is the same I already post in my OP

I tried setting one of the default backgrounds in /usr/share/wallpapers but still got the same message

So you did have you wallpaper set to a non standard location. I have seen this prevent suspension before. You may want to double check on this.

Without knowing your entire networking details I can't speculate why your commands did not work. If I had to guess, I'd say you are using the iwlwifi module. It is a little more complicated to unload.

To get an idea of what may be causing this you need to post these commands outputs:

lsmod

inxi -Fxxxz

I tried to set it back to one of the default ones but the error still appears in journalctl with respect to the new location

Here is the output of lsmod

As I suspected the iwlwifi module would not unload because you must unload the associated module first. You could try this test before suspending.

sudo systemctl stop NetworkManager

sudo ip link set wlp3s0 down

sudo modprobe -r iwldvm

sudo modprobe -r iwlwifi

Then attempt suspending.

You also definitely want to resolve the wallpaper issue.

I tried the commands here with no error in the terminal but still same situation and the error
nov 20 23:21:22 manjaro kscreenlocker_greet[4781]: Qt: Session management error: networkIdsList argument is NULL still appears in journalctl

Well then sadly I'm not sure what to say, other than the path to the wallpaper definitely must be set to a local path.

What do you mean with a local path? I am using right now one of the default wallpapers from /usr/share/wallpapers and the same error appears in journalctl

Please post the error you are receiving now regarding the wallpaper

Same error than before
nov 20 23:33:39 manjaro kscreenlocker_greet[1931]: kf5.kpackage: No metadata file in the package, expected it at: "/usr/share/wallpapers/Breath/contents/images/"
repeated 9 times

I am only on my phone, so I can't check my Manjaro install. Is the file path valid. Are the files actually in the expected location.

Yes the images are there, although the error makes reference to some metadata I don't know how to check

You may try changing PMMethod from auto to bbswitch. Reboot to make it take effect.
