Mozc Tool does not open for fcitx in Gnome 3.32.2

Hello everybody, I have recently started using Manjaro and considering to use it as daily driver on my iMac 2012.

Because I am living in Japan I use the Japanese input method everyday on MacOS, or Windows.
I was surprised how difficult it was to setup on Manjaro (on mint everything was done automatically), but I finally get it to work (kind of) also thanks to a post written by @TQCS .

I am using the Mozc Tool input method with fcitx
I would like to cicle among all the language and it seems like I should be able to set key combinations using Mozc Tool which appears when clicking on fcitx applet in the GNOME status bar.

To install I did the following:

Installed these packages

sudo pacman -S fcitx-im
sudo pacman -S fcitx-configtool
sudo pacman -S fcitx-mozc

created the .xprofile file and added the following lines:

export GTK_IM_MODULE=fcitx
export QT_IM_MODULE=fcitx
export XMODIFIERS="@im=fcitx"

NOTE: on Virtua-box installation of XFCE, everything is working fine, which suggests the problem has something to with GNOME

Sorry if my first post might be not really good or clear,
hope somebody can help,

Salvo

Thanks a lot @mandog. This a possible shortcut but not a solution. Do you many know how to that from the applet? I am just curious wether these problems get fixed at some point.
