MSI Laptop w Nvidia K2000m - External 4K Mon. Not Recognized

Hello,
I have this laptop:

Manjaro installs perfectly from a bootable USB stick but I was not able to use the Asus PB287Q 4K monitor which is connected via display port.

I went ahead and installed Manjaro properly (no USB boot) to see if my Nvidia K2000m would be recognized but unfortunately, it did not.
I googled for solutions and wasn't able to implement a fix.

Then I replaced Manjaro with LinuxMint which instantly (live USB boot) recognized the external display without any additional configuration.

Can someone help me by telling me which commands to run and where and how to paste the output so that the problem can be solved and hopefully be of help to others who have a similar hardware setup.

Overall, if I can get my external display to work, then I am ready to move to Linux because all the software I use on W10 is already open source so it makes a lot of sense to switch.

I have just downloaded Manjaro Gnome and live booted it via USB.

Check this topic and read everything, so you see how it is dealt as an issue. It is old, but you can try several of the configurations.

Report back what you have tried and what is not working.
I suggest you work with an installed and up-to-date system.

I just updated the install and would like to get the external monitor working.

Question:
Manjaro Settings Manager has an "nvidia 390--bumblebee option but it is NOT selected.

Do I or should I make that the default?
When I run Mandrake, I saw that 390 somewhere in the config files.

Help with configuring the display controller is greatly appreciated and hopefully will fix this. - Thanks!

External Monitors with Bumblebee

Hello, I noticed that Manjaro always installs Bumblebee as default for graphics. But that makes it incompatible with External Monitors at least my experience. One Reason of switching to Manjaro was that External Monitors and Dual Graphics in Ubuntu were a Pain always had to use Nvidia proprietary Driver and even then only 1 external Monitor worked after Tweaking a lot. Is there any way to handle that in Manjaro? Since Bumblebee is installed now no external Monitor is detected. My Setup where …

I found all of that (and then some) last night and learned that many users have this problem but, to the best of my knowledge, so far, no one came up with step-by-step instructions on how to fix this.

I am going to wait so that more people get a chance to read this post and maybe someone who has already solved it can jolt out the steps.
