sudo pacman-mirrors -i -m random 

You realize he's getting those errors because he has no network, right? :wink:

Do your have any other way to connect that laptop to the internet? A USB Wi-Fi adapter or USB to Ethernet maybe?

No, I assumed he was having problems with bad mirrors as quite a few others including myself have experienced in the last week. Without using a custom mirror pool I could not update myself when making an install this week.

I really didn't think anyone would be trying to update without a working connection. The problem is when you deal with a bunch of WiFi troubleshooting threads every week you start to think most people know how to use internet phone tethering. I can see that I'm going to have to break myself from making this assumption any more.
