The first time I published this forum, I tried my best, but I want to continue to help me. I like manjaro!

As I saw, you have one SSD and one HDD.

Partition:
ID-1: / size: 237.19 GiB used: 6.56 GiB (2.8%) fs: ext4 dev: /dev/sda3
ID-2: swap-1 size: 7.81 GiB used: 0 KiB (0.0%) fs: swap dev: /dev/sda4

Install your Manjaro on SSD (sdb).
Or if you are multi-boot, just allocate a 30 GB partition to it and swap as you need.

Thank you for your reply!

Because SSD has small capacity, manjaro is installed on hard disk. To SWAP 30G?

Is it because of SSD, the system misdiagnosed that I have SSD, so do not use SWAP, and high IO for hard disk?

no, don't make a 30G swap partition. if you really need swap you can create a swapfile but any swap partition or file should be on the mechanical HDD. You have sufficient RAM installed not to bother with a swap partition. A swap file just incase a program requires swap being present to run should suffice.

The OP PM me as I can read Chinese.
But I am not clear on this problem.
But do you guys think it is a language issue?

If you think it is not, please jump in with your proposals. Thanks.
Otherwise I'll continue here.

@Longer
I think it is a language problem
ๆˆ‘่ฎคไธบ่ฟ™ๆ˜ฏไธ€ไธช่ฏญ่จ€้—ฎ้ข˜
So we go to install language packs at terminal

sudo pacman -S firefox-i18n-zh-cn

and

sudo gedit /etc/locale.gen

Comment out from

#zh_CN.GB18030 GB18030
#zh_CN.GBK GBK
#zh_CN.UTF-8 UTF-8
#zh_CN GB2312
#zh_HK.UTF-8 UTF-8

to

#zh_CN.GB18030 GB18030
#zh_CN.GBK GBK
zh_CN.UTF-8 UTF-8
#zh_CN GB2312
#zh_HK.UTF-8 UTF-8

Save file. Then

sudo locale-gen

If you want Chinese language to be your system language,

sudo localectl set-locale LANG="zh_CN.utf8"

Reboot
Good luck.

But open the browser, the system is frozen. Why is this?

maybe it's a GPU issue? open the browser in safe mode and turn off hardware acceleration. see if that makes any difference.
from terminal type firefox -safe-mode. then open Preferences and scroll down to Performance. Untick the recommended settings option and then untick use hardware acceleration.

after that restart the browser and see if it works better

Still not, just reloaded. No swap.

Start the applications from Terminal and check for errors inside terminal

firefox -safe-mode

Also I suspect it maybe a theme problem. Try to change to the default Manjaro themes.

Not yet. After I hit Firefox -safe-mode, the system was still frozen. Why? Ah!!! :rage:

No, it's cold. :sob:

Try doing Firefox all over again.

Close firefox

sudo mv ~/.mozilla ~/.mozilla.old
sudo pacman -S firefox

Start firefox.

Any better?

Let me summarize.

  1. It is quite normal to start up to the desktop, and you can use terminals and some Settings.

2.I can use WeChat. ๏ผˆex me๏ผŸ๏ผŸ๏ผŸ๏ผ‰

  1. Once the browser is open, the system freezes.

  2. Open other disks and the system freezes.

So the browser and access to other disks
๏ผˆForgive me for my poor English. I can only write words. I should make it clear๏ผ‰

1.System (sda3) => Disk (sda1) => System to freeze

  1. The browser =>System to freeze

Boot up, use terminal. At terminal, type

sudo pacman-mirrors -f 5
sudo pacman -Syyu
sudo mv ~/.mozilla ~/.mozilla.old
sudo pacman -S firefox

Do all that and tell us you do all commands.

OK, now here is 9 am. I am working.
Use the command at night. Copy to forum here.
