Project to a projector or second screen

Our university's projector doesn't detect whenever i try project/cast from it using manjaro. I've had success projecting it using windows but not linux. any software to project to projector or a secondary screen.
I connect with the projector using hmdi converter and a wga cable coming from the projector.

I want to project my entire screen or specific slideshow or region.
Also I want to connect to my home's wireless tv (using a smartbox/chinese like a chromecast usb)... i want to cast movies to it but i didn't have any success with linux. Thankful for your help

It depends on your hardware and software.
Without any logs it is impossible to suggest any solution, other than guessing.
Provide at least these, with the projector connected:

inxi -SMGaxxxz
pacman -Qs optimus
xrandr | awk ' /connected/ { print $1, $2 }'
for p in /sys/class/drm/*/status; do con=${p%/status}; echo -n "${con#*/card?-}: "; cat $p; done
grep -A1 -B1 -i "modes \|modeline\|output\|Time" Xorg.0.log
