RTL8821CE - Wifi not working

https://www.computeralliance.com.au/asus-d509da-br208t-15.6-ryzen-5-notebook-win-10-home

I just got this laptop. I can't find an actual Asus link because it's a Russian esq laptop version. I just got it and I installed Manjaro XFCE Lysia 20.0 on it and it doesn't seem to understand that it has WiFi. Not sure why. I like Manjaro and I'm sure it just doesn't have the thing for it or maybe it just doesn't exist. Not sure.

https://www.google.com/search?q=3500u+linux+no+wifi&oq=3500u+linux+no+wifi&aqs=chrome..69i57j33l3j69i60.7200j1j7&client=ms-android-xiaomi-rev1&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8

Seems lots of people are having the same issue. Lol.

Please post the output of inxi -Fxxxza --no-host so we can start trying to solve this How to provide good info in your posts.

I think the Realtek must also have the Bluetooth or something because while Bluetooth is terrible it's also being problematic.

Here is an install guide for Realtek WiFi drivers:

Install this driver package (along with the headers):

rtl8821ce-dkms-git

Read the guide carefully before installing, and post all command outputs if the installation process fails.

I have to order up an Ethernet cable because I suppose I'd need that to internet. Why is it that linux just gets so screwed like this? Using linux feels like someone living in an urban area. We could get better stuff from the manufacturers of tech yet they seem to not because they just don't care. Really unfortunate.

Be glad you did not buy laptop with NVIDIA!

Why would I? Especially with linux. Lol

You can use USB Android phone tethering for a temporary internet connection for the Realtek driver installation process. That should all be covered in my install guide.

I'll do that. I just had to charge the phone.

You're a gentleman and a scholar. Very thankful for your help.

The end part where I had to

lsmod

I didn't see the model of the RT wifi chip and decided against the blacklist. I also really screwed up at some times in the thing but my goodness it works and that's what matters.

We trust you have received the usual lecture from the local System
Administrator. It usually boils down to these three things:

#1) Respect the privacy of others.
    #2) Think before you type.
#3) With great power comes great responsibility.
