[SOLVED] Broadcom BCM43142

I installed Manjaro KDE on a laptop of my friend. He has a HP Pavilion 17" and this WiFi card:
I installed the Manjaro Broadcom BCM43142 drivers and the Wifi card works basically. But when the laptop goes into standby and wake up again the WiFi card get sometimes connections, but sometimes it tries to connect and cannot. Finally it gets disconnected/deactivated. I do not understand why this sometimes works and sometimes not.

By the way the AUR drivers for BCM43142 do not work at all.

You are correct, that is exactly what I would say. Some people get that adapter working adequately in Manjaro, but not very many. I would suggest following this guide to install the broadcom-wl-dkms driver: https://archived.forum.manjaro.org/t/broadcom-wifi-fails-to-install/46316/2 Be sure to install both of the newest kernels along with the kernel headers and test your wifi on those kernels. Thank you, I looked there and this thing fixed my connection problems:

" Disable MAC Address Randomization in NetworkManager. Enter this command in the terminal to automatically generate the required conf file":

echo -e "[device]\nwifi.scan-rand-mac-address=no" | sudo tee /etc/NetworkManager/conf.d/disable-random-mac.conf

It seems to me that some routers have problems with randomizrd MACs. After this change the laptop connects within 3 seconds
