Sound not working on Manjaro LXQt community edition, no PulseAudio GUI or any other sound menu, no Bluetooth

Installed LXQt Manjaro community edition from official website, and sound is not working. The "Mixer" button on volume control widget on the panel also does nothing when clicked.

Running pulseaudio on terminal says this

E: [pulseaudio] pid.c: Daemon already running.
E: [pulseaudio] main.c: pa_pid_file_create() failed.

pavucontrol command when entered says command not found.

alsamixer settings seem fine?

There is also no PulseAudio GUI that Ubuntu distros have, nor any other audio setting menu whatsoever.

There also doesn't seem to be any Bluetooth setting? I can't use my wireless headphones, so how do I get the Bluetooth GUI?

What should I do regarding these issues?

sudo pacman -Syu pavucontrol pulseaudio-bluetooth
That will install the required dependencies too.

Manjaro is not Ubuntu - so there is a lot of packages which could be or not included.

The lxqt and lxde editions are not actively maintained in the sense of packages and theming.

The ISO is rebuild from time to time as a service to the community.

To get extra functionality you can install packages like

  • pulseaudio
  • pulseaudio-bluetooth
  • paprefs
  • pasystray
  • pavucontrol-qt
  • blueman

You can list possible packages in Pamac by filtering packages based on the keyword pulseaudio

Since not every system has a bluetooth device - you will have enable the bluetooth service

sudo systemctl enable --now bluetooth.service
