[Stable Update] 2020-01-16 - Kernels, KDE, Xorg-Stack, Mesa, Qt5, Firefox, Mhwd

Only problem was that grub did not find win10, I found it now when I needed to boot to win.

...confirm same error. Xfce stable.

OK they are working on it.

I have missed the same warning when updating, but everything works perfectly when restarting

I am getting a GPU crash post update with my typical workload. It has crashed 3 times now:

-- Reboot --

It's on a Dell Latitude 5400 laptop.

But can we upgrade to that version? The version that is installed in the stable branch is 0.6.4-8.

Thanks

Seems that Intel Graphics are still unstable on 5.4 branch : [Stable Update] 2019-12-29 - Kernels, KDE Apps 19.12, Xorg-Stack, Mesa, Qt5

For me, I running actually the 5.3.18 kernel and it's fine : no more GPU crash

I think I will wait the next kernel branch when will be stable

I was having no issues with the 5.4.6 (?) kernel, what ever was the version before 5.4.12. They must have moved the bugs around in the driver...

Afaik it's fixed in 5.5 (works fine for me too), but there's a lot of shuffling going on trying to backport it to 5.4. Read more about it here: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/intel/issues/673

Perfect worked without issues (syntax)

Ah thanks for that. If I run into another crash I'll install 5.5.

Thank you

Yep! same for me (even) with grub-vanilla installed. Had to do update-grub after reboot again in order to show it up.

Now with version mhwd-db-0.6.4.9 all works well.

Thanks for another smooth update (Gnome, Nvidia 440, Kernel 5.4)!

Why is that? Anything generic to share?

This update broke my trackpad! I can click but I can't scroll, and Touchpad Settings can't detect it. I've tried rolling back the kernel but it didn't work.

The package has been forwarded to stable branch. Just wait for your mirror to sync...

There is thermal throttle bug in the kernel for my asus gaming laptop and the ryzen cpu. The patches will become mainline on kernel 5.6.
