System call failed: Structure needs cleaning (emergency shell)

Hello there,

my system froze, i rebooted... and got the message:

I then searched this forum and tried to follow this tutorial.
Right after "sudo mount /dev/sdb1 /mnt", i got

So I searched again and found this on "structure needs cleaning", but I don't have a working windows system, so that's no solution for me either.

Any tips or advice? In "slow-speak" preferably, I'm completely new to any kind of Linux and only had Manjaro for a week or so..

Thanks in advance

Worth trying:
Boot into your Manjaro Live USB. Launch gparted. Right click on your system partition(s) and choose "Check" , apply the operation in the top bar of gparted.

Hey Marte, thanks for the reply.
I did what you suggested, shut down the computer. Took USB off. Booted.
Same problem. sigh

Out of sheer frustration/boredom/not-knowing-what-else-to-do I started running the memtest... but quit after like 10 minutes as I realised it would take hours.
So my system booted and I was back to "my" Manjaro log-in.

So, thanks a lot.. I don't know what helped in the end, but my system is up and running again (and that's what counts). For me, anyway.. :upside_down_face:

I'm glad to hear that all is well with your system. And that's what counts.
