Temporary Guest Account

Hei community,

I am wondering if there is an easy way to activate a temporary guest account, which will be entirely deleted after logout. Just like e.g. with Linux Mint. As I am running Manjaro XFCE with LightDM, I know this functionality should exist already. Unfortunately, I can't find any controls in the Manjaro settings.

Thanks in advance

Maybe this AUR package does what you need.

You need to activate guest session in LightDM.

Others might need to confirm, but you need to uncomment the following lines in /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf:

#greeter-allow-guest=true
#allow-guest=true

You may need some scripts from Ubuntu to establish a guest-session. Our package already has the basics, but not the option to create a guest-session yet:

pacman -Ql lightdm | grep guest
lightdm /etc/apparmor.d/lightdm-guest-session
lightdm /usr/lib/lightdm/lightdm-guest-session
lightdm /usr/share/help/C/lightdm/guest.page

Ubuntu has there more files. A general documentation how guest-session works with Ubuntu can be found here.

So, if I understand correctly, the functionality of a temporary guest session is available, but not finally implemented? There still is no ready to use solution?
