no sound device

Make sure you check this first
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Lenovo_ThinkPad_X1_Yoga_(Gen_4)

Yes, I did check this website and followed those settings.

Did you restart after making those changes, or at least the pulseaudio ?
Have you set the Mater to 100% volume in alsamixer ?

yes I reboot the whole systme after I made those changes

And by pressing the F6 do you have the card listed, and when you select it are the 4 audio output present and unmounted ... ?

I'm not sure if I'm selecting the correct card and if there is any way to save the state

Sound back right now,

I did the following things:

  1. reinstall the system, then sound card back to normal
  2. upgrade the kernel to 5.5.0-1, then sound card disappeared.
  3. downgrade the kernel to 5.4.15-2, sound back to normal
Thus all the issue was caused by the new kernel.

I have sound right now thanks for help

kernel 5.5.0 was supposed to add support for new audio driver - Sound Open Firmware (SOF) from package sof-firmware
but needed kernel v5.5.2 to get it working properly - [Stable Update] 2020-02-06

so far, only know of one confirmed Manjaro user with new firmware/driver working
