Unable to change desktop effects after updating.

After updating the system and the kernel i am unable to change desktop effect such as wobbly windows.
I've also tried to reboot and changing the compositor to OpenGl 3.1 but it still does not work.
I am currently on kernel 5.4.2

All I can say is that it does work here at my end, so maybe it is something specific to your hardware?

Can you post a screenshot of the compositor settings (in addition to the rest of the stuff @Aragorn requested.

Sorry for Italian language but everything is set to default

The Plasma effects availability relies heavily on the kwin renderer, which in turn relies heavily on capabilities exposed by the drivers (the kernels amdgpu driver, the X11 server, the mesa drivers, and the vulkan drivers), the mesa drivers being the most important ones here..

With that said, there could be a regression, or feature change, in one or more of these drivers, or even a driver mismatch.

The firmware that needs to be loaded by the amdgpu kernel driver could also be an issue here.

Are the effects blanked out (can't select them), no longer showing up in the list, or is it just the edit button that is not working/available?

A screen shot of the issue with the desktop effects KCM would be helpful.

Ok after digging a bit i've found that by simply running "sudo pacman -Syyyu" and rebooting fixed the issue.
Thanks anyway for the help.
