Unable to connect to WLAN (WPA2 Enterprise, iwlwifi)

Hi,

I'm trying to connect my notebook with a WPA2 Enterprise WLAN (PEAP + MSCHAPv2) but after a successful login (also seen on the AP) the connection disconnects without having established an internet connection (see dmesg output below). Connecting to WPA2 Personal Networks works just fine. I tried it with a current Live Manjaro/XFCE CD, but without success. I also tested it with different kernel and firmware versions, but same picture here.
It also happens if I use wicd instead of NetworkManager.

To make sure it is no Hardware Problem I also booted the book with a Ubuntu 17.10 and it works. So I compared/copied the NetworkManager configuration... also without success.

Now I'm out of ideas :frowning:

My setup:
Lenovo Thinkpad T460s
WLAN Card: Intel Wireless 8260 driver: iwlwifi v: kernel bus ID: 04:00
Kernel: 4.15.13 (also happens in 4.4, 4.9 and 4.14)

dmesg output:

[  774.813318] wlp4s0: authenticate with xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx

Solved It

I have found the following in the journalctl -u NetworkManager Logs:

Mär 28 11:29:59 jochil NetworkManager[699]: <info>  [1522229399.9039] dhcp4 (wlp4s0): activation: beginning transaction (timeout in 45 seconds)
Mär 28 11:30:45 jochil NetworkManager[699]: <warn>  [1522229445.0019] dhcp4 (wlp4s0): request timed out
Mär 28 11:30:45 jochil NetworkManager[699]: <info>  [1522229445.0021] dhcp4 (wlp4s0): state changed unknown -> timeout
Mär 28 11:30:45 jochil NetworkManager[699]: <info>  [1522229445.0126] dhcp4 (wlp4s0): canceled DHCP transaction
Mär 28 11:30:45 jochil NetworkManager[699]: <info>  [1522229445.0129] dhcp4 (wlp4s0): state changed timeout -> done
Mär 28 11:30:45 jochil NetworkManager[699]: <info>  [1522229445.0159] device (wlp4s0): state change: ip-config -> failed (reason 'ip-config-unavailable', sys-iface-state: 'managed')
Mär 28 11:30:45 jochil NetworkManager[699]: <warn>  [1522229445.0230] device (wlp4s0): Activation: failed for connection 'MyWLAN'

So it seems like a problem with the dhcp client. I added the following lines to /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf and it works:

[main]
dhcp=dhclient

It seems a little bit strange to be, while it was working fine with WPA2 Personal WLANs.
