VLC quits to tray, can't open a new video and can't close from tray.

Apparently the VLC not closing properly is solved by using the XCB workaround .
Although my graphic card is an AMD (default old radeon driver) and XFCE desktop .

So in at nutshell :
selecting the XVideo Output (XCB) manually is now a viable workaround for this strange behaviour.


As explained in the previous post it depends on your setup. Selecting VDPAU solved the issue for me. There is not a single setting that will fix it for everyone.
