Where does SSH_AUTH_SOCK come from

Hi, I recently reinstalled Manjaro on a new harddrive and I am having issues with my keyring/ssh-agent. Somehow on my new install SSH_AUTH_SOCK is not being set and I don't get why. It's not being set in my dot files either. If I boot to my old hard drive it works but not on the new one. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with pollkit or gnome-keyring...
I'm using lightdm + i3wm.

Do you have a keyring installed, configured, and running?

Default config contains exeuting /usr/lib/polkit-gnome/polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1 on login. I kept it and I also have a user systemd unit to start the ssh-agent. But I don't think they would change my environment variables
