WiFi Issues After Installing

Hi Team,

This is my first post on this forum. I was actually trying to install Arcolinux for some time, but I was not able to get help with these issues, so I thought I would try a different distribution (it's all the same under the hood, anyway). I have had my eye on Manjaro, and it's Arch-based - that's a plus! I have fully installed the Manjaro-awesome edition, but I cannot connect to the internet. I had similar issues with installing different versions of Arcolinux. I saw a similar post from earlier today (Wifi Setup for New Installation), but my situation is a bit different because I cannot plug into Ethernet. I will need to install the packages needed on my Flash drive (using a Windows PC) and then install them on my Linux machine. Can somebody give me a step-by-step walkthrough for this?

Here is a summary of my system details. I do not want to type the whole things out, so I will do my best to get the relevant information. Please let me know if any additional information is needed.

I have a very busy weekend ahead, but I will try to check in on this post so that I can get this resolved. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Hello,

You can try tethering if you have a Android phone.

Thanks.

See from here on

That one is a bit dated... see here..

Thanks for those links. I would be able to follow that in order to install a different kernel. Unfortunately, however, I am unable to access the internet from the machine running Linux. Would it be possible for me to install the software that is needed somehow on a different machine (running Windows 10)?

I would also need help with then installing the packages onto Manjaro. I do have a USB drive that I can use.

If you have an Android phone, you can use USB tethering to share the phones internet connection. Make sure the phone is on WiFi though so you don’t consume your data plan.

As it just so happens, my phone charger stopped working yesterday....of course. Let me get back to you on that. I'll have to look into how to set that up. But yeah, that might work!

Ok, so I've found a way to connect to Ethernet. I re-installed the full version of Manjaro-awesome and updated all the packages. Then, I went through the page on How to Install the WiFi Drivers (RTL8723DE - How to install Wifi driver). Here's what I've got:

~ >>> sudo pacman -S linux$(uname -r| grep -o -E '[0-9]+' | head -n 2 | sed 'N;s/\n//')-headers

How should I proceed from here?

Sorry to not update earlier - I was able to connect to Ethernet the other day. I just removed the 5.12 kernel, ran the code again, and rebooted - and it started working! Thank you all so much for your help!
