wrong hour

for some reason my time by hour is incorrect. I have the correct date and time but not the hour.
for instance if its 8:00 it would say 3:00
I at first thought it might be that my timezone was not set up correctly but i was indeed mapped to the right time zone by country and town (America, Chicago).
I am using the Cinnamon desktop.
Thank you, Robert

Dual-boot with windows?

Manjaro is the only operating system on my laptop

timedatectl status

timedatectl show-timesync

are those commands? sorry if im being nooby
should I use those as commands?

Yup, run each one in the terminal, and post the output.

Don't post screenshots.

          RTC in local TZ: no
[robert@robert-hppavilion13x360pc ~]$ timedatectl show-timesync
Failed to parse bus message: No such file or directory

Okay...in the terminal:

sudo systemctl enable --now systemd-timesyncd.service

Then:

sudo timedatectl set-ntp true

That should fix you up.

Wow, Im so very grateful you were able to help me, thank you.

Now that you got things working right I was wondering if you can explain what or how those commands work and how they solved the problem? I dont want to sound like im forcing you im just curious, overall im very grateful.

This is a good time for you to get acquainted with the Wiki's.

Then go more in-depth:

The ArchWiki article that I referenced will tell you exactly what those commands did/do.
