Xbox one PDP controller not working

Hi all, hopefully anyone of you can help me with this issue.

I recently bought myself a 3rd party Xbox One controller (made by a company called PDP) as a replacement for the official one that I had smashed (after my dogs used it as a chew toy) but for some reason my system picks it up but doesn't detect any button presses on it. When connected (via usb, and doesn't mater which port on pc) a little light above the 'Home' button doesn't light up, but it is still detected via lsusb. I have tried with 'xpad', 'steamos-xpad', and 'xboxdrv' and no such luck.

Below is the full output of inxi -F
